Vacation peace of mind

The HydroLock system works excellent! I went on vacation for 9 days and had no one to look over my plants; they would have died if not for this watering system! I had a webcam hooked up to check on the tent while away, and can report that the HydroLock system worked very reliably.

I had very minimal experience with PVC cement before this, and still found it very easy to set up. I highly recommend buying the Barb Insert Gun from the accessories page. I did not and connecting the hoses to the plastic barbs was the only difficult part of the setup. As a temporary reservoir I used a food grade 5 gallon bucket with a lid that had a hole in the top for PEX tubing to the pump.

Customer service has been great also! I asked a few questions by web chat and by phone, and got the exact info I needed from the owner.

The 10” HydroLock domes just barely fit in my 3 gallon fabric pots; it seems they are designed more for 5 or 8 gallon pots. The owner said they do plan to release smaller domes in the future also. I used this for just 2 plants so far, but the kit supports up to 6 and is expandable to 24 plants using the same pump.

For anyone looking to automate their watering, this is the company to go with! Excellent product and customer service!

Great product!!

I have been running my hydrolock system for about 2 weeks now and feel I can comment on it's quality now.

It is a very well thought out kit and very well put together, the only thing you will need is some 1/2" PVC and PVC glue.

Install is a breeze and I had it plumbed to my 55 gallon res and running in about 15 minutes. The cones do help retain moisture in your soil and cuts down on the amount of water needed.

The pump is very quiet itself but does cause some vibration, it is however no louder than any of my fans. Plus with the short run time(20-30 seconds) it is a non issue.

I highly recommend this kit if you are in the market for automating your irrigation, I will be expanding mine to take care of mother plants using the same res & pump(pump can handle up to 24 cones/plants).
